Behind an honor is the continuous improvement of the company's comprehensive strength. From January to July this year, the company's sales increased by 24%. From the village-run small enterprise with only a few workers on the village of Zhicun, Chongfu Town, Jiaxing, it has grown into a manufacturer of refining fabrics with more than 1,500 employees and two complete industrial chains of warp-knitted fabrics and weft-knitted fabrics. What kind of development mystery does Hui Textile have on this road? At the moment when the environmental protection threshold is constantly improving, how will Tonghui Textile achieve sustainable development? Around these issues, a few days ago, the reporter walked into Zhejiang Tonghui Textile Co., Ltd., chairman of the dialogue company Shen Minghu.
Reporter: Starting from small village enterprises, it has been among the top 20 in the country. What do you think is the core competitiveness of Tonghui?
Shen Minghu: I think it is mainly that we have two relatively complete industrial chains of warp knitted home textile fabrics and weft knitted fabrics. In recent years, the prices of raw materials in the textile industry have been rising. To a certain extent, the complete industrial chain has improved our ability to cope with market risks, and our ability to adapt to the market has also increased.
Reporter: In recent years, the environmental protection threshold has been continuously improved, especially the environmental protection requirements of some printing and dyeing enterprises have been continuously improved. How do our enterprises respond?
Shen Minghu: For us as a traditional enterprise, we must have an understanding that the threshold for environmental protection will be higher and higher, and the requirements will be more and more strict. In the process of treating waste water, waste gas and waste, we must have a step forward. the rules. In 2013, Zhejiang Province rectified the printing and dyeing industry. We focused on increasing environmental protection investment. In recent years, we have invested more than 70 million yuan in three-waste treatment. In this year alone, our environmental protection investment in Chongfu factory is expected to exceed 8 million yuan. We are very proud of the fact that in terms of waste gas treatment, we started to treat the exhaust gas before the introduction of the relevant documents of the province, and invested heavily in the exhaust gas treatment system.
Although we have invested a lot in environmental protection, we have increased a lot of production costs, but I think it is worthwhile. On the one hand, this is a responsibility of operating enterprises, a responsibility for environmental protection, on the other hand, I I feel that I am practical and will not lead to limited production and production stoppages due to environmental problems, which will also provide strong support for the sustainable development of enterprises.
From traditional production to green production
Reporter: In recent years, enterprises have invested a lot of money and energy to speed up the construction of the institute. Why should a traditional textile enterprise attach so much importance to the construction of the institute?
Shen Minghu: The construction of enterprise research institutes is an inevitable requirement for the intensified competition in the domestic and international textile markets. The acceleration of economic globalization and the pace of market internationalization has made China's textile industry face severe competition and challenges. Accelerate technological innovation and continuously introduce new textile fabric products with market competitiveness, especially the development of functional fabrics, which is the mainstream of the continuous development of the world textile fabric industry. In order to survive and develop in the fierce market competition, the company must conform to this development trend, enhance the competitiveness of enterprises with technological innovation capability as the core, continuously develop new products, new processes and new technologies with market prospects, and accelerate scientific and technological achievements. The transformation to real productivity and the establishment of an enterprise research institute are the key to achieving this goal. At the same time, the construction of enterprise research institutes is also an effective way to enhance the technological innovation capability of enterprises and support the sustainable development of enterprises.
In the early days of enterprise development, we followed the steps of others, that is, what products were made by others in the market, and what products we also made. Around 2007, with the continuous changes in the market and the continuous enhancement of the comprehensive strength of enterprises, we realized that companies that follow others have no market competitiveness. To make enterprises go better and farther, they must have more than others. The first step, that is, from then on, we positioned product development as what the market needs and what we produce. To this end, we continue to accelerate the cultivation of talents, and establish school-enterprise cooperation with Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, Shanghai Donghua University, Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, etc., with green dyeing and finishing as the main direction for innovation and research and development.
A few years ago, a kind of suede fabric appeared in the market, which was very fashionable and popular among the mass consumers. However, this fabric has very high requirements on dyeing and finishing technology. At present, there were basically no manufacturers in China. We have increased technology research and development, and treated the wastewater separately to overcome related technical problems. Because it is very suitable for market demand, and at the time others could not be technically realized, we have higher pricing for this product than ordinary ones, and the added value of the product is almost doubled. Until now, I am also the most used company in this technology in China.
Today, we maintain the speed of research and development of dozens of new technologies every year, providing technical support for corporate sustainable development.
Reporter: I know that in the past few years, our company has gradually opened up the international market and opened up a broader sales map. Can you tell us about the situation?
Shen Minghu: At that time, there were two considerations in the international market. The first was that there were more domestic triangular bonds , and there was no such problem in export sales. Secondly, the most considered at that time was to hope that the products of the company would be internationally recognized. Foreign trade sales from scratch, the first is through foreign trade companies, and later slowly accumulated some customers, in recent years through various international exhibitions, our products have also been unanimously recognized by foreign customers.
Since the beginning of this year, with the changes in the international situation, our sales in the Middle East have gradually decreased, while the sales in the US, Europe and other markets have further expanded. This year, foreign sales are expected to reach 40 million US dollars.
Reporter: What plans do you have for the future development of the company?
Shen Minghu: Next, we are going to make an intelligent transformation of the production line from the traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing through the opportunity of the overall relocation of the factory. It is expected that this transformation will eliminate 70% of the existing equipment of the company. In the printing and dyeing industry, when the dyeing agent is added, the process of transporting the dyeing agent tends to be volatilized. This not only causes different degrees of pollution to the workshop, but also is not easy to produce. We will construct the dye transfer automation in the intelligent transformation. At the same time, we purchase equipment that automatically adds dyes to achieve new technologies such as airflow dyeing and waterless dyeing. In addition, we will intelligently transform warehouses and build intelligent warehouses to achieve more efficient storage functions. The entire project is expected to invest 350 million yuan, plans to start construction on New Year's Day next year, and complete the transformation and relocation within 2 years.
Reporter: In addition to the intelligent transformation of the production line, what plans do we have in terms of talent reserve?
Shen Minghu: We were established in Zhicun Village in 1980. Now it has been 37 years. A group of old management backbones and technical backbones have gradually retired in recent years, and young talents are hard to recruit. In the past few years, they have faced talents. Hey. To this end, on the one hand, we have repeatedly gone to the western regions and other places to start recruiting college students with certain professional foundations, and cultivate their personal interests and learning. On the other hand, we have established a talent pool within our company, about 30 per year. A number of “prepared cadres†are trained in the library. When they are trained, we will invite them to participate in relevant internal meetings such as the company's business analysis meeting, new product launches, etc., accumulating their management and technical experience, and training them for a certain period of time. They are arranged to the right middle level.
In order to let the backbone of the young people grow up as soon as possible and embark on important positions in the company, starting from last year, we require all managers and technical backbones to return to the second line when they reach 55 years of age.
At the beginning of the implementation, the pressure was quite big, because many managers are old employees who have grown up with the company in the first phase, but I feel that young people do not take important positions, enterprises will not have vitality, and sustainable development is difficult to achieve. So, when I arrived at the age of 55 last year, I voluntarily resigned as the general manager. Under my leadership, the company’s management team, marketing team and technical team have stepped out of a group of young backbones and maintained the company’s vitality.
Established in 1980, Zhejiang Tonghui Textile Co., Ltd. is a highly influential manufacturer of knitted fabrics in Chongfu Town. The company has two industries, warp-knitted home textile fabrics and weft-knitted fabrics. It has passed the OEKO-TEXSTANDARD100 eco-textile international certification, and passed the ISO9001 quality management system certification and ISO14001 environmental system certification earlier in the industry.
